Marzae Field wines are fun and approachable ferments unlike you’ll find anywhere else. Our rose piquette combines all the best elements of wild blueberry wine, natural cider, and red wine together in one place and tastes like so much more than any of those (you won’t even see blueberry on the tasting notes!). It’s a light, tart, nuanced, bubbly delight. Piquette is made by refermenting pressed grape skins rather than letting them go to waste, resulting in a naturally low ABV wine.

*You may notice the term “imitation grape wine” on the label. There’s nothing “imitation” about this wine—that’s just what Big Wine has lobbied the federal government to call piquette. 250ml cans are equivalent to two glasses of wine or 1/3 of a bottle.

* Must be 21+ to order and present valid ID at collection

ABV: 8.5%

Cases Produced: 111 (35 x 250ml cans)

Style: Sparkling co-fermentation of wild Maine blueberries, cider apples, and Marquette grape piquette

Appearance: Medium garnet (cloudiness & sediment are likely as this wine is unfined, unfiltered, and contains sediment-heavy ingredients)

Tasting notes: Strawberry, pomagranate, sour ale, fruit punch, red currant, dried cranberry, tarragon, blood orange

Ingredients: 75% Connecticut Sustainable Cider Apple (Golden Russet/Spitzenburg/Redfield Blend), 13% Marquette Piquette, 12% Wild Maine Blueberries

Skin contact: Two Months

Maturation Process: Marquette piquette & wild Maine blueberries started mid-September, preserved in semi-carbonic maceration blanketed with carbon dioxide for several weeks before addition of cider and completion of fermentation. Pressed before fully dry—fermentation finished and settling done in stainless steel before racking and adding 5g/l sugar dosage prior to bottling for can conditioning. Cans held in warm conditions for a few weeks prior to release to encourage fermentation for carbonation.

Winemakers Notes: While technically shelf stable, refrigeration is recommended to extend the shelf life of this wine as it is low alcohol and has no added sulfites.
