Our favorites winemakers around the world <3
We love supporting people we like doing things we love. Travelling? Checkout our essential recommendations around the world!
Vermont:
Ellison Estate Vineyard—Not only are Kendra & Rob amazing, they’re doing the best 100% hybrid wines we’ve ever tried…other than ours of course ;)
Northern California:
Margins—Go visit our friend Megan! She’s the best and everything she does is incredible! Most of her business is based on wholesale which is brutal, so buying direct makes a big difference <3
Southern California:
J. Brix—They don’t have extensive distribution as like us they’re trying to shift to more direct sales to be a viable business. Their wines are such a treat; like Megan, Jody & Emily focus on under-represented varieties & styles of winemaking.
Southern France:
Val de Combres—Valentin makes one of the best portfolios of wine we’ve ever tried. Juicy reds are his specialty in a region better known for serious ‘traditional’ reds.
Northern Portugal:
Quinta Vila Rachel—Tiago makes some of the best wines we’ve ever tried, true field blends of random native varieties interspersed across his family’s beautiful estate then vinified by plot. Go support him, it’s heartbreaking he has to sell the majority of his crop to the big Douro houses!
London:
Well these aren’t winemakers but we couldn’t leave some London favorites off the list given our connection to the city.
For the best wine list we’ve ever encountered anywhere in the world (subject to change daily with incredible food of course), head to Little Duck the Picklery.
For the best vibes in town and incredible food to go with natty wine, go support our good friends at Papi <3
Central Italy:
La Villana—We love Joy and everything she does. Helping her out with her 2022 harvest was an integral experience on our journey to where we are today!
Oregon:
Division—Fellow urban winemakers doing incredible stuff with Gamay & Chenin amongst others
Ontario:
Revel—Tariq is the mastermind behind some of the coolest co-ferments around. We wish we could make the numbers work to get as creative as he does!
